roof / 2014 / Finalist

An entry for the idea competition for the design and artwork of the Shibuya Station Sakuragaoka Exit Redevelopment Project, organized by the Shibuya Station Sakuragaoka Exit Redevelopment Preparation Association. For this competition, we proposed a large roof covering the entire plaza, so that the Sakura Nigiwai Plaza (tentative name), which is envisioned to be used for various purposes, can be used in any weather and always become a lively place. The roof will be finished with a mirror finish so that the sky, cherry blossom trees, and other scenes of the city will be reflected in the roof. In order to make the plaza a pillar-less space that can be used for a variety of purposes, an arch structure is used, and part of the structure is bent to increase its strength, creating a beautiful, ultra-thin, paper-like structure.

Use:Plaza, Roof
